Liturgy of the Hours Terce
Terce is a mid-morning prayer occurring at 9am. It is known as one of the “little hours” or “minor hours” along with noon and 3pm. They are the middle of the day moments that don’t seem marked by anything significant and we can get caught up in our rushing about. So we interrupt our busyness to pause and invite God’s presence to join us with this prayer and in doing so, we mark our mid-day moments as sacred..
Psalm Meditation: Psalm 39:6-7
We are mere moving shadows and all of our busy rushing ends in nothing.
We heap up wealth not knowing who will spend it.
And so, Lord, where do I put my hope? My only hope is in you.
Journal Prompts:
What are the essential things requiring your attention today?
How can you invite God into your midday, ordinary moments and become more fully present?
Are you working from a place of rest and peace or striving and hurry?
Open your arms and hands in a receptive, relaxed posture like you see in the video:
Breathe in and pray: With this day
Breath out and pray: I will rest in Your presence
Repeat 2-3 times and write your responses in your journal.
Amen.
