LENT WEEK 3

Cultivating requires great intention much like a spiritual discipline. What we devote our time to and what we fix our eyes and attention on is what we will cultivate in our lives. The eyes of our heart, our imagination, is a God given gift of the ability to dream and envision a reality that is not yet tangible. Even with a garden, we plant a tiny seed that looks nothing like what it will become. However, because we can imagine the beautiful blooms, we take great care and intention to provide what it needs for those blooms to become a reality.

LENT WEEK 2

As winter begins to wane, it’s time to pull the protective layer off the soil. It can be challenging to come out from under a warm blanket where it feels comfortable and safe. There’s a powerful metaphor for our lives in the stage of uncovering the garden for spring preparation. Without the unveiling, the garden will go to rot.

Ash Wednesday

Lent is a re-ordering of our daily rhythms and a realignment of our hearts to fall more in step with God’s rhythms. Through poetry, movement meditations, prayerful prompts and visual art we will awaken our senses as we journey through the parallel metaphors of a garden emerging from the rest of winter into the resurrection of spring.
